Upload your site files
Step 3 of the Migrate my WordPress site manually series.
Required: You'll need an FTP client to upload your site files. We recommend FileZilla.
Upload the WordPress site files you downloaded in Download your site files with an FTP client. A large number of images or other media files will increase the amount of time needed to complete the upload.
- Connect to your Managed WordPress account with an FTP client. (Need help connecting with FTP?)
- In FileZilla on the Local site side of the interface, locate the
wp-contentfolder you downloaded. Select the folder then right-click (Windows) or Control + mouse button (macOS) and select Upload. - You'll see a warning that the Target file already exists. Select Overwrite, Always use this action, and Apply to current queue only.
- Select OK.
Don't continue to the next step until the FTP client finishes uploading your files.
